Wildlife surveys on your doorstep!
We are very excited to announce our first ever Gold Coast Bioblitz! This is an opportunity for amateur nature lovers to spend a few hours with an expert and look for the wonderful wildlife in the biodiversity hot spot that is Austinville Valley.
If you have an interest in the hinterland and its fascinating plants and creatures, this is the event for you.
Book in and enjoy a morning, afternoon or evening of wildlife research! Think birds, reptiles, echidnas, gliders, crayfish, bandicoots, fish, glow worms, macropods, flora, platypus, frogs, bats and more!
Small survey groups will team up with leading scientists and head out into nature to learn observational skills and how to properly identify different species.
Multiple surveys searching for a variety of different species will be taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of November. You can come to one, come to two, come to as many as you like! If you want to, you can even camp out! Spaces are limited so book now!
The Gold Coast Catchment Association is a not-for-profit organisation and is funding the Bioblitz to provide the community with a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of Australian nature. We are also committed to collecting important data for the protection of the rare and endangered species in the Austinville Valley. Ticket sales will help us to recover some of the costs associated with event. Thank you for supporting Australian native species.
