Citizen Science is all about studying and monitoring the environment. Its still hands-on but its a little more about science and less about getting your hands dirty. The main objective is to make science more accessible for the community and to produce valuable information so we know where more work is required.
The Association would also like to increase communication between scientists and citizens and make data more accessible to the public. Data gained from these projects are as valuable as those obtained by scientists themselves!
Presently PlatypusWatch is our main citizen science program. However, we are currently undertaking water quality and macro invertebrates pilot studies in the northern catchment as well as the southern catchment. So make sure to fill in our contact form to learn more about our new programs and get involved!
